When it rains, it pours...

Over the last two weeks, Israel's relentless military campaign has killed roughly 400 civilians and destroyed Lebanon's economy, but the number of Hezbollah rockets has only increased according to reports. This is a chart which illustrates the data, courtesy of The Times. On this side, missiles havent stopped striking all parts of Lebanon too, but no reports are available on the amount dropped yet by the IAF and IDF. All we know is that 23 tons fell on south Beirut. That was exceeded when 24 bombs hit that area yesterday, Tuesday.

You two are morons. Can't you post something a little more positive? And, why don't you start addresses sincere culpability in some of this. If you didn't sanction Hezbollah's presence and if you didn't sanction Hezbollah's capturing of two Israeli soldiers, would we even be discussing any issues related to rockets and bombs on either or both sides. You guys need to get a life.

As I set each evening reading the to and fro of the political views of all that attend this blog, I marvel in the inability of any side to accept that as long as there are people of any race, color and creed there will be tension and war for all time.
Religon, politics and the continued teaching of hate and distrust from grandparents to parents to children will only fan the flames of war. In many cases the sins of the fathers have placed the children into the situations that exist today in the refugee camps and divided territories.
History is a looking glass into the past, present and future, and those who choose to ignore the lessons it has taught us are destined to repeat the failings of the past.
Rocket counts, body counts, bomb tonages only incense the situation.
Be responsible, don't throw petrol on the fire.

Israel is an aggressor. They were attacked by a terrorist group not lebanon. They use cluster bombs and attack UN soldiers, red cross workers and much more. Thought israel should have learned more about wars in the past. I can't accept israel is not going to have sanctions from the UN for the murder of 4 blue soldiers.
And why to hell are they attacking palestina more and more? I really can understand the arabic states more and more. Even if i am european.

This post, simply, demonstrates the inability of the IDF to stop rockets from falling on Northern Israel, despite it's campaign in Lebanon.

Having said that, let me stress that there is no military solution to this problem. It will achieve nothing except more killing of innocent civilians. The only way forward is through dialogue.

Dialogue? Are you kidding me? That's all we've heard spewing from the mouth of Ahmadi-Nejad ever since he became the President for Iran. What people aren't really getting, though, is that Nasrallah and the Hezbollah cause are nothing more than token showpieces for Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadi-Nejad and his doctrine of racism and hatred for Zionism. At a conference entitled The World Without Zionism, Ahmadi-Nejad advocated, with the blessings of religious leaders, wiping Israel off the map. There is also a long stream of Muslim ideology that flows from previous Iranian leaders (particularly Rafsanjani); wherein, a Muslim state that developed nuclear weapons might use them to utterly destroy Israel. Stupidly, Nasrallah hasn't had the slightest inkling that he has been used all along, for nothing more than to advance Iranian religious zealotry and to advance their doctrine of annihilating Israel. This Muslim extremism has become so dangerous that I hope Israel recognizes the inherent danger they are in. Israel must destroy this Nasrallah and then go after all Iranian nuclear sites before it is too late. Israel is in very grave danger here. The United States truly needs to enter this fray by coming in from the east and up through Iran. It is time for the United States to stop sitting on the bench and come join Israel. It is time the United States started dropping bombs on Tehran and all nuclear sites in Iran.

hr - "his doctrine of racism and hatred for Zionism"

well that a good one. I don't like Ahmadi-Nejad, but do you now what zionism is?

the dream of grand israel for israelis, not for arabs. Well the problem is that this region of the world was settled by mostly arabs the last few 14 centuries...

that means that zionism also are a "doctrine of racism and hatred" or at least helps other people that israelis to experiment this feelings.

dobegs - Iran, Syria... why ever naming this countries?

you know why they try to deamonise israel?
the government of both countries is oppresive. most their people dislike them. so they need to find something to "canalise" the people's anger, that's israel. so they give weapons...

the governments of these countries are barking dogs, and we should forget them.

Hamas, hisbohla... why do people help them? do they realy want to wihp out israel? some few certainly. but my guess is that the most only help because of despair, and that the majority's wish is peace and good living - as anyone in the world wants.

and here we can only blame israel politic over the decades. if these people had a desent life, they would'nt blow it up. it's as simply as that.

so, what should we do?

I realy do beleave that all the blog community and other internet communities could put presure on all politician in all countries.

We web users should be open minded, even the conservative ones, we should not look at the "score" on both sides. We should only report about and give strength to the peacefull sides.
Critisising both violent sides, without trying to give the guilt to any.

this 60 years war was a result of a long history. we can't posibily find who's guilty. israel put so much desolation on the palestinian that they drived them to radicalism. the other side is guilty to have let her "heros" drive them in a war without winner and that they never tried to find an other path (if they had copy Gandhis way, they would have reached more today).

And this must be seen, so that the pride can be put aside (both sides) and some solution comes out. like Gush-Salom says it.

TO ALL YOU BIGOTED, MISGUIDED CRITICS OF THIS BLOG: IF YOU REALLY BELIEVED THEY WERE MORONS YOU WOULDN'T WASTE YOUR TIME WRITING SUCH COMMENTS (UNLESS YOU YOURSELVES ARE MORONS).

I BELIEVE I SPEAK ON BEHALF OF MANY WHO READ APPRECIATE A VIEW FROM PEOPLE ACTUALLY LIVING THE REALITY IMPOSED ON THEM BY ISRAEL - A HELL ON EARTH. AND FOR WHAT? HUNDREDS DEAD, HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS DISPLACED, A COUNTRY IN RUINS, ALL SO ISRAEL AND THE US CAN TEST OUT THE STRENGTH OF THEIR LATEST CREATION, THE NEW ENEMY, IRAN.

CONGRATULATIONS IN DESTROYING ANY HOPE FOR A BETTER FUTURE IN THE ONLY TWO DEMOCRACIES IN THE MIDDLE EAST - LEBANON AND THE OCCUPIED PALESTINIAN TERRITORIES.

YOUR OPINIONS ARE OF THOSE OF ARROGANT COWARDS WITH NO STRATEGIC INTELLIGENCE.

Guys, relax, this chart was posted to demonstrate the futility of war, not to glorify it an any way. Violence doesn't solve anything. When Israel invaded Lebanon in 78, there was no such thing as Hizbollah. And even if Hizbollah is defeated, which doesn't seem likely at this point, there will be other groups that will form. It's time the world took Middle East peace seriously. Israel cannot just hold on to occupied land forever, it can't hold on to political prisoners, and it can't keep three million palestinians locked up in the world's largest prison. This is not a sustainable strategy and we are all paying the price for it. People need a life, people need to be free. Israel and America will never wipe out Islamic fundamentalism if they perpetuate its cause. This is not a war of military might, its a war of ideas. You can't kill ideas with bombs. So for God's sake, lets sit down and end this madness. It is ruining all of our lives.
