"Escaping" Lebanon!!!

Lebanon is bleeding... Not by all these bombs being dropped, all these roads being struck nor all those factories being blown up. Lebanon is bleeding because of all its people abondoning it at the most crucial moment in its history... Already over 150,000 people left the country, while another 100,000 are currently planning to leave, if not more. Today we visited the Port of Beirut where over 10 naval gunships, a couple cruise ships, few ferries and a some helicopters were transporting its citizens from the many different countries to Cyprus. Believe me, taking these photos was probably the most depressing task I have undertaken. Granted that there was some buzz about all this top notch military equipment, but only one question arised in my mind: what will Israel do when it knows there are no more dual-citizenship holders in the country? How will it strike and where? Is Beirut going to become target practice for all those trigger happy officers in the F-16s and gunboats? CNN should change its headline from 'Escaping Lebanon' to "Escaping Israel'... this is probably one of the world's largest evacuation from a war zone... will they ever come back?...mrtez

The world will never be the same with terrorists being able to do whatever they please. My vote- bomb them out of existence. It is unfortunate that such hate must exist, but if it must. Then the end to Hezbolla, Hamas, and every other terrorist show that wishes to harm and bring harm to innocent people and countries. Hope you all move out of Lebanon and be safe, as Hezbolla doesn't care about you or they wouldn't have made such poor choices on behalf of their cause and put you in danger. They care neither for you, your family or your country. Their hate drives their choices.

Yes you are right; everything is a matter of perspective. However, history indicates no one wants to give an inch due to hate and anger built up over thousands of years.

Innocents are being kills on both sides. Because of so much hate filled language coming from extremist people, there is a void in trust to resolve this.

People are going to have to put aside the extremist religion beliefs to resolve this. But can they do this?

However, we all know how this must ultimately end and will end—Armageddon. The only question is “when will this happen?”

I am so sorry for all that you are going through. The people of Lebanon deserve better than this. Moreover this is a direct example of how the hezzbollah political group once in power have been a deterent to peace in the region. As an American and from past difficulties we have had in our own political forums our people must speak from a grass roots effort so that their indvidual voices can be heard and not allow the other wings of the political movements speak for them. When something is wrong with our society we as citizens must risk all we have to adopt change to our own and the majority views of what ever we are fighting to change and one thing is for sure and you can bet your last dollar that no change will happen by means of force. peaceful coexistence is what all people want and the ones that want violence to be used as a tool to get what the want are by definition terrorists.
Israel is not right for what they did but they were compelled to that end to save the innocent. unfortunately i must agree but i also agree that any political power must be listened too ie; The hezbollah so that we can begin to understand their intentions and their desires. This is like watching children argue over their toys only because everyone wants to be heard and no one is listening. I understand and sympathize with all parties but stop for a second and look at how you treat your own brothers and sisters. My grandmother used to have a saying
Stop that and i mean right now end hostilities and watch the benefits and the glory of your fine race return.
I am praying for all of you people to stop the bickering and violence and let's get back to rebuilding a new and soverign nation of Lebanon and allow the Israelis to do the same.
Just stop and i mean right now

Our Father,
Which art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kindom come
Thy will be done
On earth
As it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us
And lead us not into temptation But deliver us from evil
For thine is the kingdom
And the power
And the glory forever and ever

Won't you please join me in saying
Amen and amen
I pray in honesty and in earnest
may the lord protect all of you whom are reading this.

And By reading this you are now
protected by the host of Angels that have been supplied by our creator and my prayers.

God said it and i believe it
now you believe it and you will be protected.

This is all i have to give to you but it is enough for you and your families just believe
and trust in him
i swear it
you will not be foresaken god only gives us what we are able to handle
no more no less
I guarantee it
Just talk to him he is listening

im just here to contribute to this discussion. I was in lebanon for about 8 days july 12 to 20 and I experience this whole tragedy first hand. In those 8 days i experienced many bombs which were close to my house. i believe that if hezbollah were to be destroyed out of south lebanon than israel would take over south lebanon and not give lebanon the oppurtunity to be a free country. I don't take sides but I think that the U.S needs to tell israel to compromise with lebanon and obviously cease fire so no more people will die. I am only 14 and i really didn't need this to ruin my whole summer in which it did. i left lebanon because everday the bombs got closer and closer. I feld to jordan which took 9 hours because of all of the destroyed bridges and roads. Who knows what will happen, but Lebanon will have more work because it still hasn;t recovered from the war in '82 and all of the other attacks.
